I’m in the camp that’s depressed about Big Name Actors stealing voiceover work these days, and Welker deserves much respect. Just not for his role as “Squealy” in the Laverne and Shirley and Fonz Hour. I smell a Welker's Worst Roles list coming up. Suggestions? I’ll repost this from today’s Freak Out blog:
Alison is right: Welker pretty much everything important (and unimportant, I guess) back in the day, and will be reprising his role as Soundwave in the new Transformers movie alongside Peter Cullen. Maybe this wasn't one of his best roles, but I'm sure we all grew on almost every cartoon he voiced in all awhile enjoying those shows and characters, despite who was really behind them. And whether you know who he is or not or anything else about him, that's fine. It's just my feeling that the attitude toward it was less than sincere.
