Little John bends over is enjoying a nice boost in views over at YouTube, and it’s clear to see why: he’s one of the most likable, terrible characters ever. Why isn’t there a cult following around this guy yet? Say what you will about the animation and the writing, but the way they guy doing Little John’s voice delivers his understated lines makes me smile everytime. I know, I know…that hardly seems possible.

What’s with the backgrounds in this show? Are they in a jungle or an abandoned Rainforest Cafe? Isn’t the point of animation that you don’t HAVE to use your imagination when it comes to scenery? BUSHES people! They’re not hard to draw!
Either way, I salute you, Little John. In all your “Mister-Incredible-joins-the-Village-People” glory.

It really is hard not to like this man. Just listen to the way he says it…he knows damn well what he looks like, with his mismatched head and all. The irony isn’t lost on him, and you’ve got to respect that.

It’s folk wisdom in its full glory. LJ is affable because he’s got a lot of common sense in place of factual knowledge. He’s a Yogi Berra for the Crusades.
